Doctor of Physical Therapy, Board-Certified Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy
Being born and raised in Thomasville, Thomas knew his goal was to return home to help bring a higher level of Physical Therapy care to the region. After graduating with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, he was accepted into the the Orthopedic and Practice Management Residency at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, LA. Soon after he was able to realize his dream when he opened Big Oak Physical Therapy in 2015.
As Thomasville's only Board-Certified Orthopedic Specialist, Thomas' practice is devoted to treating patient's across all age and activity levels with a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions. His training is rooted in Sports Rehabilitation and Post-Operative care, however his passion is treating patients with acute injuries while the body is in the prime position to heal appropriately, without the need for expensive and potentially risky treatments and tests. He believes that the traditional "No Pain, No Gain" mindset in Physical Therapy is often a hindrance to the body's natural healing processes. In addition to being Dry Needling Certified, Thomas is Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Certified which allows him to evaluate, screen, and treat rotational athletes with greater specificity.
